The exhibition trajectory of Plínio Palhano traces the development of a body of painting that continuously investigates the relationship between body, landscape, and matter. Since his early shows at the Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Olinda and the Museu do Estado de Pernambuco, his work has articulated a poetics defined by the organic quality of forms and the tension between figuration and dissolution.
Over the decades, exhibitions such as Luz e Matéria (Light and Matter), O Ato do Olhar (The Act of Seeing), Memórias da Pele (Memories of the Skin) and Mare Nostrum reveal the deepening of his pictorial research, presented at important venues including the Fundação Joaquim Nabuco and the Centro Cultural Correios Recife. His participation in group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad reinforces the consistency of a singular trajectory within the contemporary art scene.
Awarded since the late 1970s in major art salons, Plínio Palhano has built a sustained presence marked not by abrupt ruptures, but by the continuous deepening of his pictorial inquiry.
This section brings together his exhibitions, offering a view into the evolution of a body of work that unfolds as a sensitive and ongoing investigation into painting.
